The city of Boerne is scheduled to host its annual Independence Day fireworks show on Monday, July 4, at City Park. The show will begin 30 minutes after sunset, which should be about 8:40 p.m. That means the fireworks should start at about 9:15 p.m., information from the city stated.
The event is free and open to the public. Free parking for the fireworks show will be available at City Park and Champion High School. Boerne police officers will be on hand to direct traffic before and after the event.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on during the show. The city asks that tents or other pop-up shade structures not be brought. Pets are allowed at the event, but must be on a leash, per city ordinance. Information notes that if people do bring pets, be confident they will be OK during the fireworks show and not frightened.
Outside food and drinks are allowed, but no glass containers or bottles.
The show will go on unless it rains or it is deemed too windy to safely shoot off the fireworks, the city’s information stated. A determination will be made on the day of the event whether it will be postponed. Follow the city of Boerne on Facebook and Twitter and on the website for the latest information.
The city also notes that it is illegal to use fireworks and handheld sparklers within the city limits of Boerne, including Boerne City Lake, the Kendall County Fairgrounds and all city parks.
