Get ready for a fun evening of alpine folk music and yodeling at Comfort Music in the Park. This free concert will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in the Comfort Park. The show band, Yodel Blitz, will be performing their entertaining variety of music and yodeling. Bring your lawn chair and a friend and come enjoy this great entertainment. It will be like Oktoberfest in July!

Three people were arrested last week by federal authorities in connection with a human smuggling incident that left 53 migrants dead. The migrants were discovered inside a tractor-trailer on San Antonio’s Southwest Side, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The victims were from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras.

The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch conducted its annual club installation dinner in June at the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club. President Greg Maxton concluded his one-year term and Greg Buschmann assumed the leadership role effective July 1.

Nicolas Flores, Andrew Hasselbalch, Chaney Mariott and Grace Wacker from Boerne were named to the President’s Honor Roll at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. The undergraduates achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.

It is a common belief that a wet nose is the sign of a healthy dog and that a dry nose indicates illness.

The Centurions of Kendall County recently elected new officers for 2022-23. They took office at the Centurions’ annual installation ceremony at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. The new officers are, from left: Historian Ken Nietenhoefer, Secretary Randy Niemeier, Treasurer Justin Boerner, President Paul Duran and Vice President Donnie Poitenent. The Centurions of Kendall County is a nonprofit association dedicated to the enrichment of life in Kendall County. The organization has contributed over $1 million to various groups and individuals.
