Boerne ISD School Resource Officers
The Boerne Independent School District recently introduced its 2022-23 School Resource Officers. As reported by The Star in June, Boerne ISD, along with the Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch police departments and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, assigned each Boerne ISD campus with a designated School Resource Officer beginning in the 2022-23 school year.

Student Honors
Dylan Pegg of Boerne was named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring 2022 semester. Pegg is in the game design and development program. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” “D” or “F” and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit

Artist specializes in scratchboard engraving
Michelle Hortsman, the Boerne Art League’s artist of the month, has loved art and creativity of all kinds since she was a young child. Although she does paint and draw, her main area of work is in scratchboard engraving.

Bobcats prepping for season opener
The Comfort football team took team pictures on Saturday and then held an intersquad scrimmage afterwards. The Bobcats scrimmage at Center Point on Friday as they continue to prepare for the 2022 opener on Aug. 26 when they host Johnson City.

Greyhounds host kickoff dinner Sunday night
The Greyhound football program held its annual kickoff dinner Sunday night at the Dog & Pony Grill. Boerne continues to prepare for the upcoming season and scrimmages Kerrville Tivy on Friday. They have another scrimmage next week and then play at home against Flour Bluff on Aug. 25 to begin the regular season.

Boerne ISD Football Camp
Boerne ISD held its annual summer football camp and it turned out to be the largest camp of the summer with roughly 300 young men showing up to work on their football skills. Because of the size, the camp was broken down into three sessions.
