Volleyball season starts this week for area teams

The summer went by fast and believe it or not, the 2022 volleyball season is here and starts this week for area teams.

Champion kicked off its year Monday evening at home against Fredericksburg. After Monday’s match, the Lady Chargers are traveling to Abilene to play in a tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Boerne High opens its new season Tuesday at home by playing two matches.

BHS hosts Providence at 4 p.m. and then Boerne tangles with Comfort at 6:50p.m. After that, the Lady Greyhounds are entered in the Northside ISD tourney on Friday and Saturday.

Comfort will also play two matches on Tuesday in Boerne. The Deer challenge Providence at 5:25 p.m. at Greyhound Gym and then matches up against the Lady Hounds at 6:50 p.m.

Geneva School of Boerne opens the new year by playing in the Spike Down Tournament in Ft. Worth Thursday through Saturday.

All the area teams were allowed to begin practices last week and concluded the week with scrimmages last weekend.
