In an effort to both give back and assist the Boerne area community, City Hills Church is using a “Serve Day” to help ease the burden in difficult financial times featuring record inflation.

Users of Boerne’s reclaimed water utility now may be facing the same drought restrictions on landscape irrigation as potable water users. Additionally, weekend watering may be eliminated for all Boerne utility users during any drought stage. The value of water across the Hill Country continues to rise as drought reigns heavy over the region with little signs of letting up, and the Boerne City Council is eyeing several measures to help mitigate water concerns in the short-term. The council likely will amend its ordinances to apply the same drought stage restrictions on landscape irrigation to reclaimed water as potable water, limiting the use to a day of the week based on address during drought restrictions.

As the hot and dry summer weather continues, Boerne Utilities has created a new way to report suspected water violations from its water customers.

Eleven Boerne Police officers were promoted Thursday morning in what Chief Steve Perez believes was a record-setting ceremony, including four experienced officers who were promoted to the newly formed corporal rank. Four officers also were advanced to sergeant and three were promoted to lieutenant.

A presentation from a committee of attorneys tasked with reviewing the legislation that last year established the Kendall County Court at Law has led commissioners to consider reshaping the new court’s jurisdiction.
