The Boerne Family YMCA will play host to its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Walk from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, January 17. The event starts at Main Plaza in downtown Boerne, advances along Main Street to River Road, then returns to Main Plaza.

More than 20 new state laws went into effect as Texans rang in the New Year with another half-dozen to go on the books on Jan. 18, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
