HCCArts announces Art AfterHours classes for 2022. Art AfterHours classes introduce you to a clip of art history, a script of art terminology and a dip into art mediums, all in a playful explorative environment.
They take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays in the comfort of The Classroom at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road in Boerne. The cost to participate is $35. Discounts with membership are available. Class descriptions, and Limited Registration www. hccarts.org.

March 1: Mosaics, Part 1
March 8: Mosaics, Part 2
During a two-part class, we will create a decorative garden stone. Glass, stones and beads will be applied to a stone substrate and then sealed with grout to make them stand the test of time. Come learn the centuries old craft of mosaic in a fun and supportive environment.
March 15: Dyeing in a Day
Produce fabric colors in your unique palette. Use professional fiber reactive dyes on fabric and yarn. We explore color combinations and patterns in our exploration of dyeing. Learn the chemistry of producing pastels to vibrant colors.
March 22: Hammered Cuff
Copper and brass are used to fabricate an embellished wrist cuff. We will use jewelers’ saws, chasing hammers and pliers to forge an individualized wearable art piece. Seal with museum wax or try a patina for added color.
March 29: Color Play
Ever want to understand how color works? We will use transparent and opaque paint to explore what happens when you mix colors, how to identify color combinations that work, and techniques to mix cohesive palettes.
April 5: Fixable Mixed Media
Immerse yourself in color and texture. We will work with fusible non-woven adhesive, thermal embossing powders, synthetic fusible fibers and metallic paint to build luminous layers of dimensional collage paper.
Coming later in April is Molded Bracelet on the 19th and Wire Work Earrings on the 26th.
