Boerne High gave the Smithson Valley volleyball team all they could handle during Friday’s district match at Greyhound Gym.
The Lady Hounds were up 2 games to 1 before the Rangers rallied to take the final two sets to get the win.
Smithson Valley claimed the victory, 25-22, 15-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-8.
Boerne is 20-12 overall and 5-7 in district. They visited Boerne Champion Tuesday and then host Alamo Heights Friday.
Also, Calynn Ramos was honored after she recorded her 1,000th career assists.
Bella Pettet led the team in kills with 13, Paige Stegall added 9 kills and Kaylie Bourn finished with 7 kills.
BHS served it well and dropped in a dozen aces and Ramos had 4 of them, while Holly Reeder and Bourn both recorded 3 aces.
Bourn came up with 7 blocks, Ava Rocchio had 6 blocks and Paige Stegall finished with 5 blocks.
Haley Wheeler came up with 23 digs, Ramos added 14 digs and Kinsley Sawyer totaled 8 digs.
Ramos also finished with 20 assists and Lauren Magnus dished out 15 assists.
