Hill Country Viper Pigeons Water Polo launching program

The Hill Country Viper Pigeons water polo program will launch soon and the organization has already begun sign-ups.

All of the activities will take place at the Boerne ISD Aquatic Center but because the pool is not slated to be completed until November, the events will start off at the Boerne City Pool and at the Fair Oaks Country Club Pool and later switch to the BISD pool.

Swim 2 Score

The Hill Country Viper Pigeons will offer a Swim 2 Score Intro to water polo class for girls and boys ages 7-10 at the Fair Oaks pool.

The goal is to build water confidence and introduce beginners to the sport of water polo. It will also focus on the swimming and water polo skills that will allow them to advance onto one of the competitive teams offered by the Viper Pigeons.

The program dates for Swim 2 Score are Aug. 19 to Oct. 23, every Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Water Polo teams

The Hill Country Viper Pigeons water polo teams are forming now. They will begin practice Aug. 19 for the fall season and start at the Boerne City Pool and switch to the BISD pool when completed.

There are various age groups including 12U/14U and high school teams for boys and girls.

Because of pool space, there will be a limit of 30 kids in each age group.

There will be a fall season (Aug. 19-Nov. 21), winter season (Dec. 2-Jan 30), spring season (Feb. 3-May 1) and summer season (May 5-July 25).

The teams will compete in local games and tournaments, as well as participate in state and national tournaments.

Champion swim/water polo coach Scott Slay along with Will Koezler will head up the program.
