Boerne ISD earns ‘Innovative District’ status

BOERNE — The Center for Model Schools, formerly the International Center for Leadership in Education, has named the Boerne Independent School District a 2024 Innovative District for its system-wide focus on instruction and organization structures to increase student growth with College, Career and Military Readiness.

Boerne ISD is one of only 12 Innovative Districts from across the United States that will share its best practices at CMS’s 32nd Annual Model Schools Conference.

The event provides a professional learning forum for thousands of passionate educators and leaders to network together and support one another. BISD’s presentation, titled “(Raising the Bar with CCMR),” will be led by Larissa Flores, chief instructional officer Larissa Flores, Heather Willis, Career and Technical Education director, Cindy Bills, advanced academics director, and high school Principals Shane Wilson, Boerne H.S., and Dr. Beto Hinojosa, Champion H.S.

Boerne ISD team leaders worked relentlessly to develop a vision focused on the needs of their students and community.

The Boerne team will be sharing details on the success of CCMR district initiatives and how the implementation of these initiatives has led to a 15% increase from 2022 to 2023.

“Innovative Districts are strategic about decision making and are purpose driven” Dr. Linda Lucey, program chair and CMS associate partner, said. “Each of the 2024 Innovative Districts have leadership teams continuously focused on developing cultures of success.”
