Christmas, holiday events, gatherings not to be missed

DECEMBER 1

Stocking Stroll, Historic Downtown Boerne, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event has become a fun shopping tradition with friends and family, and a great way to knock out your holiday shopping list along Boerne's Hill Country Mile and beyond.

First Baptist Church invites everyone to 'Boerne Bright!”, a walkthrough Christmas light experience that captures the true spirit of Christmas. Along with nearly 400,000 Christmas lights synced to your favorite Christmas music. The event will run from 6-9 p.m.

Boerne ISD will unveil the official 2023 District Holiday Card at 8:30 a.m. in a ceremony at the Boerne Academy cafeteria, 235 Lohmann St. The 2023 Boerne ISD Holiday Card will be selected from the 12 student designs that were voted as campus holiday card art contest winners. DECEMBER 2

36th annual Weihnachts Parade, 6-8 p.m. Main Street will light up with almost 100 floats spreading holiday cheer. Bring a chair if you'd like to sit along the parade route or enjoy strolling up and down the Hill Country Mile all evening.

Oma’s Christmas Fair, Kendall County Fairgrounds, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a hand-crafted market show with three buildings of exciting and unique merchandise produced and showcased by approximately one hundred vendors from across Texas. Santa will be visiting and spending time in Santa Land.

DECEMBER 3

Oma’s Christmas Fair continues 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Kendall County Fairgrounds.

First Baptist Church Boerne stages a Christmas celebration called, “Behold our God, Emmanuel!” The event will be held in First Baptist's Worship Center, 631 S. School St., at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 6 p.m.

DECEMBER 9

Boerne Family YMCA “Breakfast with Santa” is back by popular demand, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the YMCA, 820 Adler Road in Boerne. Enjoy a pancake breakfast hosted by Saint Peter’s Catholic Church Knights of Columbus. Every child will have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa, create a special ornament craft, compose a handwritten letter to Santa as well as make magical reindeer food. Registration opens on November 25. Members, $10 per child; non-members, $25 per child.

A Toast To Olde Town weekend is hosted by the Boerne Retail and Restaurant Owners Association. Includes such events as: Wassail tasting and caroling contest, 4-8 p.m.; Pictures With Santa at The Dienger (by appointment only); Visit by Father Christmas, 4-8 p.m. at The Christmas Shoppe, 132 S. Main St.; and live music, craft beer, and great food from 5-8:30 p.m. at Tusculum Brewing Co., 236 S. Main St., and 9 p.m..-midnight at Salvador Dobbs, 512 River Road. DECEMBER 14

The Kendall County Retired Teachers Assocation will hold its Christmas luncheon beginning at 11:15 a.m.at El Rio Restaurant, 1361 S. Main St. Attendees are asked to bring children’s books for the association book drive.
