Boerne Champion track standout Elizabeth Leachman has been named to the Nike Elite Program.

In a partnership between the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), USA Track & Field (USATF) and Nike, 40 prep athletes from around the country have been selected for this elite athlete development program and Leachman is one of them.

Of the 40 athletes – 20 male and 20 female – 10 are from Texas and represent a total of 18 states.

Leachman will be a sophomore for the Chargers in the upcoming school year and was a 5A state champion as a freshman in the 3200 last spring.

Leachman recently ran the third fastest two-mile time by a Texas High School girls at the Nike Nationals this summer with a 9:57.

The program will start with the 2023-23 school year and each athlete will work with an NSAF staff member and have access to various Nike-sponsored professional athletes, according to MileSplit.
