Boerne High baseball player Hutson Hendrix stood out amongst some of the best baseball players from two states.

Hendrix recently played in the High Plains Shootout that pits teams from Texas against teams from Oklahoma and Hendrix was named MVP after one of the games.

The rising junior at BHS was 2 for 2 playing for Team Texas – Red in a game against Team Oklahoma – Red. Team Texas – Red, led by former Boerne High baseball coach Bill Merrell, also played another game and Hendrix recorded a hit in that contest to finish the series at 3 for 4.

Merrell’s son, Cody, coached one of the Oklahoma teams, while Boerne Champion’s Gage Goldberg, suited up for Team Texas – Navy at the three-day event held July 17-19, in Enid Oklahoma.
