Tapatio secures 2023 Hill Country Senior Interclub Championship

Needing 32 points to secure the 2013 Hill Country Senior Interclub Championship, Tapatio Springs scored 36.5 points in a hard-fought contest with San Antonio TPC in the final match of the season to secure the title.

Needing 32 points to secure the 2013 Hill Country Senior Interclub Championship, Tapatio Springs scored 36.5 points in a hard-fought contest with San Antonio TPC in the final match of the season to secure the title.

It is the first time Tapatio Springs has won the championship.

Tapatio Springs Interclub coordinator David Stelmazewski said, “A big thanks to those who competed so well today…Frank Cohen, Gary Southern, Joe Munsch, J.J. Montanaro, Kenne Woods, Dave Arneson and Jack Morrow.”

The Tapatio Interclub team had a tough road to the championship. They defeated Cordillera Ranch, TPC San Antonio, Comanche Trace, Kissing Tree, Fair Oaks Ranch, Vaaler Creek, Sonterra, River Crossing and Dominion Country Club on their way to the Championship.

Team members are David Stelmazewski, Frank Cohen, Ron Bowman, Jack Morrow, Gary Southern, Dave Arneson, Kenne Woods, Blake Ross, Kim James, John Maywald, J.J. Montanaro, Gary Etherington, Larry Hicks, Jimmy Locke, Joe Munsch and Jody Wyse.

“Every player made a significant contribution to the success of the team,” Stelmazewski said.
