Bill Merrell was named the Region 8 4A Coach of the Year.
Both BISD baseball coaches Bill Merrell and Ben Woodchick have been honored by the Texas High School Coaches Association. Merrell was named the 4A Region 8 Coach of the Year and Woodchick was named the 5A Region Coach of the Year. Woodchick led the Chargers to the 5A state tournament and Merrell led the Greyhounds to the regional championship round in his final season as a coach.
