The Boerne Champion boys soccer team had 10 players recognized by the coaches in District 26-5A.
Charger Bentley McCool ended his sophomore season as the Co-Defender of the Year in the district and McCool was also named Second Team All-State by the Texas High School Soccer Coaches Association.
Senior Crew Pulliam, freshman Grayson Moran and senior Alfredo Castellanos were all named to the 26-5A first team, senior JP Martinez, junior Matthew Duran and junior Ben Matamoros landed on the 26-5A second team, while freshman Jones Ferguson, junior Tanner Perkins and senior Matthew Magaw were all named honorable mention.
The Champion boys earned this year’s district title with an 11-1-2 record after not making the playoffs last year. The Chargers had a tough first-round draw and faced Leander in the playoffs at San Marcos and were eliminated in the first round by the score of 3-0 to end the year at 14-2-3.
