Boerne Champion had seven girls soccer players named to one of the All-District 26-5A teams.
Senior Addison Huber and senior Regan Alt both landed on the first team, senior Emma Mae Dixon and senior Skyleigh Arnold were named to the second team, while junior Ashlyn Plank, junior Ashlyn Defries and freshman Lily Alejo were named honorable mention.
Also, Alt and Huber were both named 1st Team All-Region by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches and Dixon was named 2nd Team All-Region.
Champion finished fourth place in 26-5A behind Smithson Valley, NB Canyon and Pieper with a record of 7-6-1. The Lady Chargers went on to win two playoff matches in Kara Walters’ last year coaching the team.
Champion defeated Leander Rouse in the first round and pounced on the Panthers of Medina Valley in the next round, and recorded shutouts in both matches, 2-0 and 6-0. They were knocked out of the postseason, 8-2, by district foe Smithson Valley and ended the year at 11-12-1. The Rangers went on to win the region and played at the state tournament.
