The Region IV-4A champion Lady Greyhounds girls soccer team had 14 players recognized by the coaches in District 26-4A.
Senior Madeline Davis was named the MVP of the district, senior Lily Griffith was voted the Defender of the Year, sophomore Kailey Stringfellow was named Newcomer of the Year and sophomore Avery Ukeiley was voted Utility Player of the Year.
Four different Lady Greyhounds were named to the first team after senior Kylie Combs, senior Kassie Lozano, senior Hannah Bowen and sophomore Kinsley Sawyer landed on the first team.
Senior Kate Spiekerman, sophomore Sophia Harper and junior Taylor Hudson were named to the second team and senior Kaelin Daniel, senior Madison Davis and junior Anna Marino were recognized as honorable mention.
Also, Griffith and Davis were named 1st Team All-State by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches and Combs was named honorable mention all-state by TASCO.
Boerne High had a great year that ended at the 4A state soccer tournament for the second straight season.
The Lady Greyhounds rolled through district play with a record of 12-0 to win district and then defeated Georgetown Gateway, JFK, Burnet and Corpus Christi Calallen in the playoffs before defeating district foe Davenport 1-0 for the regional title.
Once at state, they faced Celina for the second season in a row and were knocked out by the eventual state champs 2-0 to finish the year at 26-3.
