The 11th Annual Boerne Art Waddle will be located along the Cibolo Creek Trail. This is a relaxed, fun event with the attributes of a major fine art event. Additional details to come. Michael “Murph” Murphy was a United States Navy SEAL officer who served during the War in Afghanistan. Every year in memory of Michael P. Murphy people gather on Memorial Day to attempt The MURPH Challenge which consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and finish with another 1-mile run, all in a 20lb. weight vest, 14 lb. weight vest, or body armor. For YMCA members only.

Old Jail Museum Tours, The Old Jail Museum, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tour the Old Jail Museum and enjoy its unique exhibits! Tickets are $5 for adults, and children under 10, veterans and law enforcement are free!

Kuhlmann-King Museum Tours, Kuhlmann-King Historical Complex, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Take a tour around the Kuhlmann- King property to step back in time!

Bluegrass Jam at The Agri-Cultural Museum, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Every second and fourth Saturdays of the month, bring your instrument and play along, or just come to listen to the Bluegrass Jam at The Agri-Cultural! (Formerly the Agricultural Heritage Museum) This event is free and open to the public.

Music in the Cave – Proud to be an American, Cave Without A Name, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Allegro Stage Co. returns with a rousing program: “Proud to be an American!” Enjoy a night of fun and fantastic singing enhanced by the incredible natural cave acoustics and nature’s beauty. The talented singers include: Anna Gangai, Mary Morrow, Beth Erwin, and Du-Wayne Green; direction and script by Tim Hedgepeth, with music direction and arrangements by Tom Masinter. Boerne Concert Band, Main Plaza Park, 7 p.m. The Boerne Concert Band plays a wide range of music that people of all ages can enjoy. This group of volunteer musicians is quickly becoming one of the best performing groups in central Texas. They always put on a great show when they play concerts in the park! The concert is free to the public.

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce will be CLOSED on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. The Chamber will reopen on Tuesday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m.

Ribbon Cutting at Roy Maas Youth Alternatives Meadowland – Girlsville Cabin, 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. They are celebrating the grand opening of the newly renovated Girlsville cabin at the Meadowland Campus! Roy Maas Youth Alternative creates brighter futures for children in crisis by promoting individual success and healthy relationships in a safe, healing environment, giving children and families the tools to end the cycle of abuse.

Ribbon Cutting at Lovorn Law Firm, 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join a ribbon cutting celebrating Lovorn Law Firm! Lovorn Law Firm is a Texas Hill Country-based firm, serving Boerne, New Braunfels, San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Their expertise is in family law, criminal law, probate, wills, and estates.

Art in Conservation: Drawing from Nature, Herff Farm, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Observing the natural world with a pencil allows you to explore your environments, as you carefully follow the shapes, textures, and interplay of light and shadow. With the practice of basic skills; of sighting, proportion, value, line quality and detail, we learn to draw what we see through our interpretation. Drawing Club, PHPL Conference Room, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Drawing Club meets in the library’s conference room each Thursday at 1:30 p.m. This is not a drawing class, but a group of people that get together to hone their own drawing skills.

Member Orientation, The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Member Orientation is for the Chamber’s newest members, new employees of established members, or veteran members who would like a refresher. Attendees will get detailed information on the Boerne Chamber and the benefits of membership. A light lunch will be provided by the sponsor. Active Movement, PHPL Community Room, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join LaVada Smith as she guides you through the ancient meditative, easy movement practice of Qi gong, each Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the community room. Dress comfortably, no special equipment or mats needed. This program is part of our Silver Library Initiative.

First Friday Yoga, PHPL Community Room, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Have fun each first Friday in the Community Room for Yoga facilitated by Janeen Castillo. If you don’t have your own yoga mat, there should be some available for you to use!
