Six different Boerne Champion boys basketball players were recognized by the coaches from District 26-5A.
One of the players, senior Braden Baum, was named the 26-5A MVP, while two others were first-team selections and three were honorable mention.
Senior Dakarai Hodge and junior Charlie Georgelos both landed on the second team.
Junior Quinn Grable, junior Mason Wyatt and sophomore Baeden Burdick were named honorable mention.
Also, Baum was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Team, while Baum and Georgelos were TABC All-Region and Baum is scheduled to play in the TABC State Game scheduled for next Friday at Taylor Field House in San Antonio, 7:30 p.m.
Champion finished the year with a record of 31-6 and went 10-4 in district for third place. The Chargers were the defending regional champs and almost made it back to state after they went four rounds this year.
In the first round, Champion defeated Leander on a Burdick buzzer beater, knocked off Harlandale in the second round, upset Alamo Heights in the third round and then was eliminated by Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial in the fourth round or regional semis.
