The curtain came down on the Geneva School of Boerne softball season on Monday.

The curtain came down on the Geneva School of Boerne softball season on Monday.

The Eagles took on Corpus Christi Incarnate Word and fell to the Angels 11-0 in five innings at Goliad.

Geneva ends its best softball season in school history at 8-6 after they went a couple of rounds in the playoffs.

The Eagles kept it close with the Angels in Monday’s game and it was scoreless through three innings but CC Incarnate Word got its bats going in the fourth inning and plated 7 runs against starting pitcher Madeline Egbert.

The Angels followed that up with 4 more runs in the top of the fifth and the Eagles needed to score at least two runs in the bottom half of the inning to keep the mercy rule from kicking in but couldn’t push in any runs.

Geneva only finished with 1 hit in the game, while the Angels recorded 5 hits. CCIW had one error and the Eagles had two.
