Comfort High had two athletes race at last weekend’s Region I-3A track and field meet held in Abilene.

Comfort was placed in Region I during last year’s UIL realignment and has fluctuated between Region IV and Region I over the years.

Both Comfort athletes that were at regionals were entered in distance events and neither was able to advance to state, but both set PRs over the weekend.

Hunter Lackey placed 16th in the 3200 race with a personal best time of 11:16.17.

Victoria Kessova finished 7th in the girls 400 run with a personal-best time of 1:01.12 and came close to setting a school record.

The Deer school record for the 400 is 59.77 set by Audra Biermann back in 1989.
