The baseball playoffs begin this week, while the postseason continues for a few area softball teams.
Baseball
The Boerne High baseball team won District 27-4A and faces Cuero, the fourth-place squad from District 28-4A.
It’s a three-game series and all the games will take place in Marion. Game 1 is this Friday, 7 p.m., followed by Game 2 on Saturday, 2 p.m. A third game will follow if needed.
Champion won its tiebreaker game over Kerrville Tivy on Monday to enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed from 26-5A. They’ll face Liberty Hill, the No. 2 seed from District 25-5A. Champion hosts Game 1 Thursday, 7 p.m. and then Liberty Hill will host Games 2 and 3 Friday at 5/7 p.m.
Geneva hosted the Bay Area Christian Broncos in a series this week. The Eagles took Game 1 on Monday at home, 6-1, and played Game 2 on Tuesday and were looking for a sweep. A third game followed the second game if needed.
Softball
The Geneva School of Boerne begins its postseason Wednesday on the road in League City at Bay Area Christian in a one gamer at 3:30.
Also in a one gamer, the Lady Greyhounds face Bellville in a one gamer this Friday at Georgetown High, 7 p.m.
Comfort moves on to face the Henrietta Lady Bearcats at Whitney High School this weekend. Game 1 is Friday at 5 p.m. and Game 2 takes place Saturday at noon with a third game to follow if needed.
