Geneva competes at district track

The Geneva School of Boerne track and field teams competed at their district meet recently where the girls were 5th with 59 points and the boys team finished 7th with 37 points.

The Geneva School of Boerne track and field teams competed at their district meet recently where the girls were 5th with 59 points and the boys team finished 7th with 37 points.

The top 5 finishers headed to regionals in San Marcos at Texas State University in a meet that was held Wednesday.

Varsity Girls

Isabella Godoy cleaned up at district and won three events. The senior finished 1st in the 400 with a time of 1:00, Godoy also took 1st in the 800 after clocking in at 2:19 and was 1st in the 1600 with a time of 5:25.

Alex Doran finished 2nd in the 800 meters with a 2:31, came in 3rd in the 400 after running a 1:05, while Grace Detterick finished 5th in the 800 with a 2:34 and was 6th in the 1600 after running a 6:04.

In field events, Malyn Arnold claimed 5th in the discus with a throw of 82-0 and Ella Owens came in 6th at 79-5 to earn team points.

Varsity Boys

HaydenAllen placed 2nd in the 100 with an 11.30 and was also 3rd in the 200 with a time of 23.28.

In field events, Brady Chandler finished 3rd in the pole vault after he cleared 10-6 and Griffin Miller placed 4th in the discus with a throw of 115-11.

Also, the 4x100 of Brady Chandler, Nicholas Nowosiwsky, Jacob Rosenstiel and HaydenAllen teamed up for 6th with a 46.67 to earn team points.
