Boerne High competed at last week’s 4A Area meet and both varsity squads finished within the top 7.
The Boerne boys were 4th with 78 points just behind the Fredericksburg team that was 3rd with 80 points. District foe Davenport (136) won the meet and Wimberley (88) was 2nd.
On the girls side, the Lady Hounds placed 7th with 32 points and scored all their points in field events. Fred (174) won the meet, followed by Wimberley (96) and Cuero (72) where at least 12 teams scored a point.
The top six score points and the top four advance to regionals this weekend at Texas A&M – Kingsville.
Varsity Boys
Charlie Stahl took 2nd in the 100 with a 10.90 and was also 2nd in the 200 after clocking in at 23.15. McCoy Bruce posted a time of 41.45 to win the 300 hurdles and Bruce also placed 2nd in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.01.
Kaiden Fischer won the shot put with a toss of 45-6.25 and Fischer earned more team points in the discus after he flung it 129-11 for 5th.
The relay team of Bode Brown, Woody Goen, Charlie Stahl and Hunter Freeman won the 4x200 with a time of 1:30.09 to edge Wimberley (1:30.53), while the 4x400 of Freeman, Brown, Max Migliozzi and Goen combined for a 3:30 for 4th to advance to regionals. Also, the 4x100 consisting of Cash McPeak, Goen, Wyatt Watts and Freeman came in 5th with a time of 44.25 to score team points.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Greyhounds had two individuals win events after Tori Adams took 1st in the shot put and Kendall Lemm won the high jump.
Lemm cleared 5-7 to take 1st in the high jump and Adams tossed the shot put 42-3.25 for 1st place.
Adams also earned points in the discus after she flung the metal frisbee 120-4 to finish 2nd and Averi Aaron placed 4th in the discus with a throw of 107-0.
