Riebel is the lone senior on this year’s Eagles team and she capped her final regular-season home game with a solo home run to center field in the fifth inning.

That hit, along with 15 others, helped Geneva defeat Schertz JP II, 10-2.

Geneva finishes the regular season at 7-5 and was the thirdplace team from their district. The Eagles open the postseason on Wednesday at Bay Area Christian School. The game starts at 3:30 in League City.

Geneva had a fast start on Monday and scored 4 runs in the first thanks in part to a 3-run homer by Kate Friesenhahn. The Eagles added 2 in the second and third frames for the 8-1 lead. Geneva added single runs in the fourth and fifth and didn’t score after that.

Schertz John Paul II plated a run in the second and added another in the fourth and had 1 hit in the game.
