The Moondance Outdoor Concert Series starts on Saturday, May 6th at the Cibolo Nature Center, and we are buzzing about it! Moondance has been a part of Boerne for over 20 years. In that time, friends and families from the community, and from far away, came to set up their lawn chairs under the lights of the Oak Motte to enjoy these outdoor summer night concerts at the Cibolo Nature Center. It’s an event we look forward to every year as a time to relax and let loose in the beauty and comfort of nature. These days, that’s a valuable thing.
Moondance would not be possible without the longtime support of our partners, Frost Bank, the Brandon Gallagher Manning Memorial Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation and back again as media sponsor this year, Boerne Radio. Special thanks to these great Boerne friends and businesses for keeping our toes tapping.
This year, we’re bringing back some favorite bands from Moondances past, as well as welcoming a few new ones to our stage. We will kick off the season with The Lost Mule Band, a group that has been with us through the years. These guys give an incredible show with their music, humor, and energy. We’ll also have Suni Bulingoz Tex-Mex-Asian food truck to add even more flavor to the evening. As with every Moondance, coolers with your beverages of choice are welcome, and dancing is encouraged! Here’s the rest of the summer lineup, so you can plan ahead: Saturday, May 6th Lost Mule Band
Saturday, June 3rd Down for the Count
Saturday, July 15th Aaron Tilt band
Saturday, August 5th Bobby Marquez
Saturday, September 30th Ruben V
The gates open for each event at 7:00pm, and we keep grooving till after sunset. Again, you are able to bring your own ice chests and beverages, though there will be some available for purchase. We also ask that guests bring their seating, whether that’s chairs or a picnic blanket! Come early and enjoy a stroll through the trails or past the dinosaur tracks. You can also stop in and see the updates to our Visitor Center!
At the Cibolo, we believe wholeheartedly in the physical and emotional benefits of being outdoors. Moondance is just another way we can enjoy those benefits together, as a community. Become a member this year to enjoy discounted tickets and additional benefits and perks throughout the year. We hope to see new faces this year and be a part of some great summer memories. Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members, and season passes are $60 for everyone. Tickets and more information are available at www.cibolo. org/moondance.
