Boerne High suffered its first district loss in baseball Tuesday at Canyon Lake after the Hawks took the contest, 7-0.

Not only did Canyon Lake hand Boerne its first district setback but they also did something no one else has done in the regular season and that’s keep the Greyhounds off the scoreboard.

BHS slips to 22-3 overall and 9-1 in district. They hosted the Hawks Friday. Boerne starts a series with Davenport next week, Tuesday on the road and Friday at home.

Luke Roskin pitched well for the Hawks and only gave up one hit to the Hounds, a single by Cale Blalock in the sixth with one out, but Canyon Lake turned a double play to get out of the inning.

Roskin walked 7 and struck out 6. The Greyhounds stole three bases but couldn’t generate any runs off Roskin.

Xander Cloudy was on the hill for the Hounds and went 4.2 innings. He gave up 8 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 2 and fanned 2.

Campbell Jackson finished out the game and tossed the final 1.1 innings. He didn’t give up a hit or run, walked 1 and sat down 1.
