Eagles clip Angels 15-0 in four innings

Geneva defeated Corpus Christi Incarnate Word Tuesday at home, 15-0, after falling to the Angels in the first round of district, 5-3. The Eagles are 22-2 overall and visited Holy Cross on Thursday.

Geneva did a lot of damage in the first three innings with 5 runs in the first, 4 in the second and 5 more in the third for the 14-0 lead. The Eagles added another run in the fourth to make it 15-0 and the game ended there.

While Geneva finished with 13 hits in the game, Incarnate Word was held to 1 hit by Eagles pitcher Shawn George, who walked just 1 and struck out 5 and only needed 54 pitches to earn the win.

Jake Roberson tripled and singled and drove in 2 runs, Guy Kohler doubled and singled, picked up 2 RBI and scored 2 runs, Grant Roberson doubled and hit 2 singles, scored 2 runs and drove in 2 runs.

Guy George took 2 walks and scored 3 runs, C Lutz hit 3 singles, drove in 2 runs and scored twice, Cannon Menn hit 2 singles, scored 2 runs and collected 3 RBI, George Viña singled, walked, scored once and picked up an RBI, Shawn George had an RBI and scored a run, while Brady Chandler scored once.
