The Boerne High softball team put on a hitting clinic during Monday’s district game with Bandera at Greyhound Field.

Boerne knocked out 15 hits, with 12 of them going for extra bases. The Lady Hounds recorded 7 home runs, and at one point, hit three in a row from three straight batters. They also recorded 2 triples and 3 doubles to go with 3 singles on their way to a 15-0 victory.

Seven homers in a game is a school record and now Boerne has 29 home runs in 29 games this season after Tuesday.

BHS stays perfect in district at 6-0 and improves to 21-8 overall. They played Davenport Thursday as they continued league play. For results of that game, see the Wednesday online edition of the Boerne Star.

Ava Nieto led the assault with the Boerne bats and hit 3 homers, one in the first inning, another in the second and her third in the fourth. Ava Rodriguez knocked 2 out of the park, while Taylor Wilson and Taryn Madlock both went yard one time each.

Madlock and Ava Renteria also tripled, while Renteria, Riley Partin and Isa Renteria all doubled in the game. Heidi Maytum hit 2 singles, while Rodriguez also singled.

Nieto finished with 4 RBI, Madlock, Rodriguez and Ava Renteria all pushed in 2 runs each, while Nieto scored 4 runs.

Rodriguez only needed 52 pitches to pick up the win from the circle and gave up just 1 hit in four innings. She also didn’t walk a batter and fanned 6.
