The George W. Kendall Chapter, Boerne, Texas, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honored four Kendall County area high school seniors as DAR Good Citizens at their April 2023 Chapter Meeting.
DAR Good Citizens Awards are given to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree and are named DAR Good Citizens. Each Award winner receives a certificate, pin, and wallet identification card.
Additionally, the four Good Citizens were awarded scholarships from the George W. Kendall Chapter, NSDAR. Geneva High School’s Good Citizen Hailey Hubenak received the firstplace scholarship in the amount of $1,500. Comfort High School’s Good Citizen Bailey Feldman received a scholarship in the amount of $1,250. Boerne Champion High School’s Good Citizen Ethan Handley received a scholarship in the amount of $ 1,250. Boerne High School’s Good Citizen Nancy Zavala received a scholarship in the amount of $ 1,250.
