Greyhounds compete at Devine Relays

The Boerne High track and field teams were in action recently in Devine and finished in the top 2 in the varsity divisions.

After Devine, the Greyhounds were at the Antler Relays in Kerrville and sent a few to the Texas Relays last week. They will compete at their district meet this week in Navarro.

Varsity Girls

The Boerne girls took 1st with 151 points to top the field.

Samara Koenig was 2nd in the 100 with a 13.51, Savannah Seibert came in 2nd in the 200 in 26.74, Seibert also won the 400 after clocking in at 1:00, while Madison Morris finished 5th in the 400 at 1:06.

Landon Wade placed 4th in the 800 with a 2:39, Mary Marino won the 1600 with a time of 5:38, Eleanor Davis took 1st in the 3200 after recording a 12:31, while Sophia King and Sophia Karageorge were 4th and 5th with times of 14:05 and 14:21.

Addie Dayoc clocked in at 53.59 for 3rd in the 300 hurdles and Addy Wells came in 6th in the race with a 55.63.

Boerne’s 4x100 relay of Alyson Bendele, Samara Koenig, Kendall Lemm and Prisca Igbo teamed up for 2nd with a 52.89, while Koenig, Bendele, Igbo and Lemm competed in the 4x200.

Addie Dayoc, Jenna Ruede, Madison Morris and Savannah Seibert raced in the 4x400 and teamed up for a time of 4:27 that was good enough for 3rd place.

Seibert also competed in the long jump and was 3rd with a leap of 16-0, Tori Adams won the shot put with a throw of 43-8 and Averi Aaron was 6th with a toss of 30-8, while Morgan Naylor was 7th at 30-0.5.

Adams flung the discus 134-5 for 1st place, Aaron was 4th at 98-2 and Mayor placed 6th at 86-9.

Kendall Lemm won the high jump after she cleared 5-2, Alyson Bendele was 5th at 4-10 and Prisca Igbo came in 6th at 4-8.

Kayuke Warren won the pole vault after clearing 9-6, Addie Dayoc was 5th at 8-6 and Katie Schickedanz came in 6th at 7-6.

Varsity Boys

The BHS boys tallied 142 points for 2nd, just behind 1st-place Pearsall with 165 points.

Michael Igbo took 5th in the 100 with an 11.85 and Cash McPeak was 7th with an 11.94, while Woody Goen and Max Migliozzi finished 4th and 5th in the 400 with times of 54.18 and 54.60.

Tayson Farar and Carsten Bain went 2-3 in the 1600 with times of 4:47 and 4:50, while Parker Powell won the 3200 after recording an 11:07 and Chase Balderas was 6th in 11:36.

McCoy Bruce and Hudson Bruce were 1st and 2nd in the 110 hurdles with times of 15.94 and 16.69, while McCoy also won the 300 hurdles with a 41.46 and Hudson came in 4th in 44.74.

The 4x200 of Woody Goen, Bode Brown, Wyatt Watts and Michael Igbo won the 4x200 after combining for a time of 1:32, while the 4x400 of Brown, Hunter Freeman, Max Migliozzi and Carson Coughlin teamed up for 2nd with a time of 3:36.

Woody Goen placed 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 20-4, Kaiden Fisher took 1st in the shot put with a toss of 47-7, Logan Schram was 2nd with a throw of 47-4 and Keegan Fisher finished 5th after throwing the shot 42-0.

Kaiden Fisher flung the discus 134-10 for 2nd, Keegan Fisher was 4th at 129-5 and Oliver Sweeney came in 5th at 123-7.

Zach Rackler was 6th in the triple jump with a measurement of 36-1 and Javier Benevidez was 7th.
