It was a long drive that turned into a short game for the Geneva School of Boerne softball team on Friday.

The Eagles drove to Corpus Christi and recorded a 19-0 victory over John Paul II in three innings.

Geneva improves to 4-3 overall and played on Tuesday against another John Paul II school, this one from Schertz.

The Eagles tallied 5 runs in the first, 8 in the second and 6 in the third behind 14 hits.

Madeline Egbert was the winning pitcher and picked up her second victory of the season after she only allowed 2 singles and struck out 5 batters.

On her birthday, Trinity Cloud went 4-4 at the plate with a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored, Egbert helped her cause and drove in 3 runs, while Kate Friesenhahn was 2 for 2 with a triple, a sacrifice, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI.
