The Boerne High stringers competed at their district tournament this week in Wimberley and had several Greyhounds turn in strong performances.

BHS had six entrants in four events advance to regionals set for Blossom Tennis Center on April 11-12.

Both boys doubles teams advanced to regionals after Sam Gonzales and Jess Gonzales won 1st place at district, while the boys doubles team of Ben Rowe and Justin Barraza came in 2nd.

Chloe O’Connor placed 2nd in girls singles and Ian Siemens was 2nd in boys doubles to also qualify for regionals.

Serena Ross placed 3rd in girls singles and Jacqueline Kornet and Garrett Stevens teamed up for 3rd in mixed doubles and all will serve as alternates.

Hill Country Championships

Before the district tourney, the Hounds were entered in the Hill Country Championships in Fredericksburg and brought home the team title.

Chloe O’Connor was the girls singles winner, Serena Ross came in 2nd in girls singles, Justin Barraza and Ben Rowe were 2nd in boys doubles and Ian Siemens came in 3rd in boys singles.
