Before spring break, the Champion track and field teams were in action in Somerset at the Sonny Detmer Relays where they dominated the competition and won all four divisions.
The Chargers were at Alamo Heights this week and compete at Northside next week.
Varsity Boys
The Champion boys tallied 261 points to beat the second-place team (123) by 138 points.
Sawyer Bolli won the 100 in 11.29, Arlis Adickes was 3rd in 11.43 and Landon Heckman came in 6th with a 11.98.
Corbin Mitchell won the 200 with a 23.49 and Joshua Hierholzer was 6th in 23.97.
Caleb DeHart placed 2nd in the 800 with a 2:03 and Noah Perez came in 3rd at 2:07, while in the 1600 Charlie Houck took 2nd after running a 4:38 and DeHart placed 4th at 4:47.
In the 110 hurdles, Brandon Karbowski and Grant Menzies went 2-3 with times of 16.94 and 17.29, while Menzies won the 300 hurdles after clocking in at 43.38 and Karbowski was 2nd in a time of 43.43.
The 4x100 of Corbin Mitchell, Sawyer Bolli, Ranger Lewis and Arlis Adickes took 1st with a 42.72, while the 4x200 of Luke Rossi, Bolli, Lewis and Adickes also captured 1st in the 4x200 after recording a time of 1:31. The 4x400 of Rossi, Hayden Brace, Joshua Hierholzer and Lewis teamed up for 2nd after posting a 3:31.
In field events, Joshua Hierholzer and Hayden Brace were 1 and 2 in the long jump with distances of 22-1 and 22-11.5, while the Chargers took the top 3 spots in the shot put. Riley Wampler won the event with a toss of 47-9.75, Nico Lopez was 2nd at 46-1.5 and Connor Warzecha was 3rd at 45-10.75.
The Chargers also captured the top 3 spots in the discus after Warzecha won the event with a throw of 168-3, Wampler was 2nd at 154-6.5 and Aiden Harris came in 3rd at 143-9.
Joshua Hierholzer and Hayden Brace went 1-2 in the triple jump after Hierholzer won the event with a leap of 43-0 and Brace was 2nd at 41-3.
Robert Wegleitner won the high jump after he cleared 5-9 and Griffin Jones was 3rd at 5-6, while Brooks Jones won the pole vault after he went 15-0, Luke Rossi took 2nd at 14-0 and Landon Kolacny came in 3rd at 13-0.
Ephraim Tonn-Bourg also won the 100 with a time of 18.0
Varsity Girls
The Lady Chargers won their division with 289 points and beat the second-place team (117.5) by 171.5 points.
Vanesa Gonzalez won the 100 in 12.31, Juliana Syroney was 2nd in 13.32, while Mariela Gonzalez won the 200 in a time of 25.31 and Madison Meinke was 3rd in the 200.
Destiney Rose and Reagan Burkey went 1-2 in the 400 with times of 1:01 and 1:03, while Regan Garcia came in 4th at 1:06.
Kendall Fallon won the 800 with a 2:20, Destiney Rose was 2nd in 2:24.23 and Emma Rice came in 3rd at 2:24.45, while in the 1600, Josey Whitaker took 1st in 5:31 and Jenna Koepke finished 2nd with a 5:34.
Whitaker, Grace Flores and Kynley Albright went 1-2-3 in the 3200 with times of 11:52, 11:58 and 12:16, while Addison Hankins won the 100 hurdles after clocking in at 16.46 and Larysa Green placed 2nd with a 17.63. Hankins and Green also finished 1-2 in the 300 hurdles with times of 47.25 and 51.20.
The Chargers won all three relays and the 4x100 of Lorena Barreiro Bidot, Vanesa Gonzalez, Mariela Gonzalez and Erin Fallon took 1st with a 47.83, the 4x200 of Madison Meinke, both Gonzalez girls and Fallon also captured 1st in 1:41, while the 4x400 of Addison Hankins, Erin Fallon, Regan Garcia and Kendall Fallon was 1st in a time of 4:10.
Kendall Fallon won the long jump with a leap of 16-9, Juliana Syroney was 6th at 15-3, Hailee Goodwin won the shot put with a toss of 34-1.75 and Lorena Barreiro Bidot was 3rd at 31-3.25. Goodwin won the discus with a throw of 88-9.5, Barreiro Bidot finished 3rd at 86-1 and Cameron Wampler placed 5th with a 79-1.
Erin Martin finished 3rd in the high jump after she cleared 4-8, while Peyton Smith won the pole vault after vaulting 10-6, Talia Venner came in 3rd at 9-0 and Vivian Cardenas was 4th at 9-0.
