I am excited to announce that I am a candidate for Fair Oaks Ranch City Council, Place 2. Leveraging my extensive skills, business insight, and experience of community involvement, I believe that I am the candidate best suited to represent the residents of Fair Oaks Ranch. My priorities are to preserve and protect the beauty and uniqueness of our community, to address the needs of FOR residents while balancing the issues impacting the city, to listen to concerns about city decisions, and to utilize my analytical and statistical skills when making council decisions.
I have lived in Fair Oaks Ranch with my wife Cristina, and our daughters for more than six years. My family is a proud supporter of Boerne ISD, and my children have attended Kendall Elementary, Boerne Middle School South and Samuel V Champion High School, where my youngest is currently a sophomore, and a member of the Champion Charms Drill Team. My oldest daughter, a Champion graduate, is now a Seaman in the US Navy, currently stationed in Guam. My mother-in-law also lives in Fair Oaks Ranch. My family formerly resided in the Crownridge neighborhood for 10 years and we have a long history of attending community events and frequenting businesses in the Fair Oaks Ranch area.
We always loved spending time in the area, whether it was visiting family in Fair Oaks Ranch or attending Market Days in Boerne. When we decided it was time to move, we knew our goal was to live in Fair Oaks Ranch. We appreciated the natural beauty of the community, the family-friendly environment we observed, the proximity to San Antonio, and the great schools.
I am a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word and received my Master of Science in Data Analytics from UTSA in 2022. I am currently a Vice President at a major national bank, where I have worked for more than 30 years. Through data assessment and analysis, I make strategic recommendations concerning where the bank positions branches and ATMs throughout the country. This role has provided me with an in-depth understanding of how geographic areas grow and change, and what makes them attractive to residents and businesses. I will apply these problem solving skills to the benefit of the residents of Fair Oaks Ranch and work hard to ensure there is a plan in place to handle the added traffic, water, and stormwater issues that comes with growth and can adversely impact the city along the major thoroughfares and throughout the city.
Serving my community has always been a priority. I was elected President of the Crownridge of Texas Owners Association from 2013 to 2016, after two years of service as a Board member. As President, I advocated on behalf of residents on several zoning and roadway issues, and worked to ensure that development within our community best reflected and met our homeowners’ needs. My family has been a member of Oak Hills Church for approximately 20 years, where we have served as bible school teachers, neighborhood group leaders, and instructors for the Empowered to Connect course for foster and adoptive families. We have also been members of a weekly bible study group in Fair Oaks Ranch for over 5 years.
In addition, we work closely with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF); our youngest daughter is a JDRF Youth Ambassador and was just appointed as a Texas delegate to the JDRF Youth Congress. As a result, we will be traveling to Washington, DC in July to advocate for better funding and treatment for Type 1 diabetes with members of the US Congress.
