Comfort High made the short trip down IH 10 for a non-district baseball game against Geneva School of Boerne on Monday and the Eagles make short work of the Bobcats.
Geneva defeated its neighbor from up the highway, 10-0, in five innings of work. The Eagles continue to play well and improved to 17-1 this year, while the Cats slip to 10-3.
Geneva scored in all five innings during Monday’s matinee affair and plated 3 in the first, 2 in the second, 3 in the third, followed by single runs in the fourth and fifth frames.
Jake Roberson pitched well for the Eagles and only gave up 1 hit in the game, a single in the fourth frame, while striking out 8 Comfort batters with no walks.
Geneva produced 11 hits to score its 10 runs and knocked out four doubles that came from the bats of Roberson, Shawn George, Guy George and Cannon Menn.
Menn and Roberson both added singles to their doubles, with Menn scoring twice and Roberson picking up 2 RBI.
Guy George scored and drove in a run in addition to hitting his double, Shawn George scored a run, George Viña scored and pushed in a run, Guy Kohler singled, scored and picked up an RBI, Grant Roberson singled, Sam Armstrong singled and drove in a run, while Gray Bruner hit 2 singles, pushed in a run and plated a run.
