After a second-place finish in district last year, the Lady Greyhound soccer team reclaimed the top spot in this season’s district standings after a win last Friday.
The Boerne girls beat Great Hearts Northern Oaks 6-1 to secure this year’s district crown. BHS is 19-2 overall and 10-0 in district.
Boerne hosted Wimberley on Tuesday and then closes out the regular season after spring break when they play Canyon Lake.
This year’s district title is the second in three years for head coach Jeremy Shannon and the program’s eighth in the last nine seasons.
Against Great Hearts Northern Oaks, Hannah Bowen finished with 2 goals, while Kassie Lozano, Kylie Combs, Sophia Harper and Kailey Stringfellow all knocked in single goals.
Combs, Bowen, Lilly Griffith, Madeline Davis and Avery Ukeiley all finished with single assists.
