Hounds soccer blasts Bulldogs, 9-0

The Boerne High girls soccer team blasted Bandera Tuesday night to sweep the Lady Bulldogs this year.

Boerne defeated Bandera 9-0 and improves to 9-0 in 26-4A action. The Lady Greyhounds are 18-2 overall and played San Antonio Great Hearts Northern Oaks Friday. They’ll host Wimberley on Tuesday as they close in on another district title.

In their first-round district meeting, the Lady Greyhounds whipped the Bulldogs 8-0 and with Tuesday’s 9-0 win, they took care of their Highway 46 rivals 17-0 this season.

In Tuesday’s match, Boerne was leading 5-0 by halftime and then tacked on 4 more second-half goals.

Hannah Bowen put the Lady Hounds on the board first and then knocked in another goal before the break. Madeline Davis, Kailey Stringfellow and Kylie Combs also added goals in the first half with A’Marie Ramirez picking up an assist.

In the second half, Avery Ukeiley scored a goal on the assist from Stringfellow, and then Ukeiley assisted on a Combs goal to make it 7-0.

From there, Ramirez netted a goal on the Stringfellow assist and Tommie Rand closed out the scoring for the final of 9-0.
