BHS baseball wins 4 games at Somerset tournament

The Boerne High baseball team didn’t drop a game last weekend at the Somerset Tournament to remain undefeated so far this year.

The Boerne High baseball team didn’t drop a game last weekend at the Somerset Tournament to remain undefeated so far this year.

BHS went 4-0 at the event and stands at 5-0. The Hounds were scheduled to host St. Mary’s Hall Tuesday before taking part in the Comal Tournament where they’ll host several games over the weekend.

Boerne opened the Somerset tourney with an 8-3 win over Devine. The Hound scored a run in the first, 4 more in the second and pushed in another run in the fourth for the 6-0 lead before the Warhorses got on the board with 2 runs to make it 6-2.

The Hounds answered with 2 runs in the 5th to open up an 8-2 lead before Devine scored one run in in the sixth.

Boerne also topped LEE on Thursday, 6-1, before knocking off Somerset on Friday, 5-1.

From there, the Greyhounds then closed out the tourney with a win over Uvalde.
