The Comfort girls ran into a wall when they played Wall in the first round of the 3A basketball playoffs Monday in Sonora.
The Lady Hawks defeated the Deer 61-17 and end the Comfort 202223 season at 16-19.
Wall was up 18-2 after one and then outscored the Deer in the second, 16-5 for the 34-7 halftime lead.
Wall tallied 19 in the third and held Comfort to 3 points for the 53-10 advantage and then closed it out by winning the final period, 8-7.
Meghan Davis had 8 of the team’s 17 points, Jael Hernandez added 3, Bailey Feldman and Emily Rivera finished with 2 apiece, while Katie Haffner and Jackie Zapata both hit 1 free throw.
Davis also led the team on the boards with 8 rebounds and Feldman came up with 5 steals.
Comfort had seven seniors this year and they are Katelyn Cook, Lula Jaime, Bailey Feldman, Meghan Davis, Jackie Zapata, Emily Rivera and Ava Govea.
