BHS boys soccer team picks up two 26-4A wins

The Boerne High boys soccer team was clicking on all cylinders last week and defeated Great Hearts Northern Oaks and Wimberley by a combined score of 15-0.

Also, last week, Boerne boys coach Michael Strong earned his 100th career win and was honored after Friday’s contest with a banner. 

BHS is 15-3-2 overall and still perfect in district play at 5-0. They were off Tuesday and host Canyon Lake Friday to close out the first round of district.

Vs. Wimberley

Boerne hosted Wimberley on Friday and won 6-0. After the match, the Hounds had a presentation for Coach Strong and had a banner made to celebrate his 100th win.

Bear Kelly had quite a game and tallied 4 goals, while Hudson Stevens and Brett Hettie both knocked in single goals.

Joe Ballenger assisted on 2 of the goals, Jess Gonzales also recorded 2 assists and Hudson Vickery finished with 1 assist.

Vs. Great Heart Northern Oaks

Boerne picked up its most lopsided victory of the year after they defeated Great Hearts Northern Oaks, 9-0, last week in a match moved back a few days because of the weather.

Joe Ballenger, Bear Kelly and Jess Gonzales all knocked in 2 goals, while Hudson Stevens, Justin Bain and Fernando Palacios found the back of the net one time each.

Ballenger had 3 assists, Kelly and Gonzales recorded 2 assists apiece, while Palacios and Sam Gonzales both 1 assist apiece.
