With the district title already locked up, the Boerne High boys basketball team is still playing for a perfect district season before entering the playoffs.
The Greyhounds were at Davenport last Friday and improved to 11-0 in 27-4A after the 59-32 victory. The Hounds are 26-5 overall and closed out the regular season at home Tuesday against Bandera for Senior Night.
Entering Friday’s contest, the Hounds were 10-0, while Wimberley was 8-2, so even if Boerne lost its last two and the Texans won its last two, BHS would still be district champs since they swept Wimberley this year and own the tiebreaker.
Boerne’s defense didn’t give up much and only surrendered 32 points all night for an average of 8 points per quarter to the Wolves.
The Greyhounds were leading 28-14 by halftime and then took a 47-22 advantage into the third quarter after winning the stanza, 19-8.
In the fourth, Boerne outscored Davenport, 12-10, to close it out.
