SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne Champion swim team dominated at the District 28-5A meet held at the Southwest ISD Aquatic Center recently.

Both the Chargers boys and girls teams took 1st place after the boys tallied 268 points and the girls 265 for a combined tally of 533.

 

RESULTS

The top 8 earn team points and the top six finishers advance to regionals set for this weekend in San Antonio with state berths up for grabs.

The girls 200-medley relay of Kate Deykin, Cameron Kellogg, Regan Garcia and Cora Skoog was 1st in 1:55, while the boys 200 medley of Will Harrison, Griff Orloff, Bexon Harrison and Jeffery Matthew was also 1st in a time of 1:39.

Addison Homann took 2nd in the 200 free in 2:16, while Jake Canales won the boys race in 1:57 and Ethan Roecker was 2ndin 1:58 and Emi Martinez-Galarza finished 3rd in 2:06.

Cameron Kellogg, Kate Deykin and Lilly Schiffelbein went 1-2-3 in the 200 IM with times of 2:12, 2:17 and 2:20 for gold, silver and bronze.

In the boys 200 IM, Palmer Guerra and Roberto Perez Puente finished 1st and 2nd at 2:13 and 2:23.

Cora Skoog, Regan Garcia and Cayden Van Dyne were 1-2-3 in the 50 free with times of 24.77, 25.37 and 27.80, while in the boys race, Bexon Harrison, William Tolar and Ian Rutledge were 1-2-3 after posting times of 21.52, 22.58 and 23.84.

Emma Haines and Colin Breuer both took 1st in the 1-meter girls and boys diving, while the Chargers had the top 3 finishers in the girls 100 butterfly after Audrey Olivo, Lilly Schiffelbein and Victoria Sperber went 1:04, 1:06 and 1:09.

In the boys 100 butterfly, Bexon Harrison was 1st in 54.09 and Cole Breckenridge placed 2nd in 59.

In the 100 free, Cora Skoog, Regan Garcia and Kenna Chastain took the top 3 spots with times of 54.76, 55.54 and 58.39, while the boys did the same thing after Griff Orloff, Will Harrison and William Tolar went 1-2-3 with times of 49.38, 50.24 and 50.61.

Sarah Tolar, Lily Sperber and Madelyn Crosley were 1-2-3 in the 500 free after posting times of 5:57, 6:13 and 6:18, while Cole Breckenridge, Roberto Perez Puente and Aiden Carney did the same thing in the boys 500 free with times of 5:00, 5:40 and 6:06.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Kate Deykin, Cameron Kellogg, Regan Garcia and Cora Skoog teamed up for 1st after posting a 1:44, while the boys 200-free relay of Griff Orloff, Will Harrison, Matthew Jeffery and Bexon Harrison also captured 1st with a time of 1:29.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Kate Deykin, Cameron Kellogg and Audrey Olivo finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd with times of 1:02.37, 102.67 and 1:08, while the boys did the same thing after Will Harrison, Ian Rutledge and Ethan Roecker went 1-2-3 after recording times of 57.90, 59.80 and 1:01. 

In the 100 breaststroke, Madi Neuman, Victoria Sperber and Sarah Tolar were 2nd, 3rd and 4th with times of 1:12, 1:16 and 1:17.

In the boys 100 breaststroke, Griff Orloff, Matthew Jeffery and Jake Canales turned in the top 3 times after Orloff went 1:00, Jeffery 1:03 and Canales 1:06.

In the final event of the meet, the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Chargers were 1st on both the boys and girls side.

For the girls relay, Audrey Olivo, Madi Neuman, Kenna Chastain and Lilly Schiffelbein combined for a time of 4:03 for 1st and 18 team points.

In the boys 400 free, Jake Canales, Palmer Guerra, Cole Breckenridge and William Tolar teamed up for 1st place in the race after clocking in at 3:30.64.
