The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team came out of the gate slowly during last Friday’s district game against Hill Country Christian School of Austin, but the Eagles took control with a strong surge to end the first quarter.
Early in the game, Geneva was down 5-0 and didn’t score in the first four minutes of the contest but the Eagles went on a 17-0 run to end the quarter with a 17-5 lead.
HCCSA didn’t end the Geneva run until early in the fourth quarter and by then the Eagles were leading 17-7 and never looked back from there on its way to a 53-22 win.
Geneva improves to 23-5 overall and is 8-0 in district.
Up next for the Eagles is the team’s district tournament that is scheduled to start this week.
