The Boerne Champion boys soccer squad stayed undefeated this year after they rallied late against Antonian on Tuesday night at Charger Field to tie the Apaches.

Champion was trailing 2-1 in Tuesday’s match, but Crew Pulliam knocked in the equalizer with five minutes left to knot it up at 2-2, which is where it stayed until the final buzzer.

Tuesday’s game also closed out the non-district portion of Champion’s schedule with the team standing at 3-0-2.

Champion has only played five matches so far this year because Coach Clifton Tierney said he prefers not to play in tournaments to avoid injuries and to be healthy and fresh for district play that started Friday.

Champion opened 26-5A action Friday at Wagner.

Pulliam also tallied Champion’s other goal on Tuesday vs. Antonian with assists from Jones Ferguson and Matthew Magaw.
