The Boerne Champion boys soccer team hosted McCollum on Friday and picked up its third straight win.

The Boerne Champion boys soccer team hosted McCollum on Friday and picked up its third straight win.

Champion corralled the Cowboys, 5-0, and after tying in its first match of the season, the Chargers have reeled off three consecutive wins.

Champion is 3-0-1 overall and all three wins have been shutouts. The Chargers hosted Antonian on Tuesday and coach Clifton Tierney expects a tough match.

“They should be a good test for us as a team because they have good talent,” Tierney said.

After that, the Chargers open district Friday at Wagner.

Bentley McCool tallied 2 goals on Friday, while Crew Pulliam, Alfredo Castellanos and Jones Ferguson all knocked in a goal with Castellanos’ goal coming on a penalty kick after a takedown in the box.

Grayson Moran, Nathan Bell and Ferguson all tallied 1 assist in the match.
