Hounds swimmers prep for district meet

Before its district meet last weekend, the Boerne High boys and girls swim teams had one final tune up at the SAISD Winter Invite.

Both the Greyhound swim squads did well and the boys won the 4A and smaller meet with 107 points, while the girls also took first with 107.5 points.

RESULTS

The girls 200-medley relay of Brinley Robinson, Ella Parsons, Kiali Cunningham and Brenna McCarty took 1st in 2:12, while the boys team of Henry Johnson, Cooper Wagner, Carter Schuessler and Michael Villarreal also captured 1st in 1:53.

Sadie Smurr finished 3rd in the 200 free in 2:27 and in the 200 IM, Brinley Robinson placed 3rd in 2:51, while in the boys 200 IM, Jack Parsons won the race in 2:35.

In the girls 50 freestyle, Brenna McCarty tied for 2nd with a 28.70 and Ella Parsons came in 5th at 30.35, while in the boys 50 free, Henry Johnson finished 2nd in 23.67.

Cassidy Collier clocked in at 1:24 in the 100 butterfly for 3rd and in the boys 100 fly, Cooper Wagner earned 2nd after finishing in 1:00, while Cannon Kunz came in 7th in 1:13.

Ella Parsons placed 5th in the 100 free in a time of 1:07, while Henry Johnson won the boys 100 freestyle after recording a 53.23 and Carter Schuessler was 3rd in the event at 57.98.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the BHS girls came in 2nd after Kiali Cunningham, Brinley Robinson, Ella Parsons and Brenna McCarty combined for a time of 1:57, while a second girls team of Cassidy Collier, Mary Rich, Bella McCarty and Sadie Smurr came in 4th in 2:08.

The boys 200-free relay of Tristan Wood, Cannon Kunz, Jack Parsons and Isaac Martin Johnson teamed up for 5th in a time of 1:50.

Brenna McCarty won the 100 backstroke in 1:10.18, Kiali Cunningham took 2nd in the 100 back after clocking in at 1:10.37 and Brinley Johnson was 5th in 1:18, while in the boys 100 back Carter Schuessler placed 3rd in 1:06, Cooper Wagner was 4th in 1:08, Tristan Wood 5th in 1:14.45, Jack Parsons 6th in 1:14.62 and Michael Villarreal 7th in 1:17.

Bella McCarty captured 3rd in the 100 breaststroke in 1:30 and Mary Rich was 6th in 1:34, while Cannon Kunz finished 4th in the boys 100 breaststroke in 1:20 and Michael Villarreal was 8th in 1:26.

The Lady Hounds earned 14 more points in the 400-free relay after Cassidy Collier, Mary Rich, Bella McCarty and Sadie Smurr combined for 2nd with a time of 4:46, while the boys team of Cooper Wagner, Isaac Martin Johnson, Carter Schuessler and Henry Johnson teamed up for 1st in 3:46.
