The Bobcat boys basketball team traveled to Ingram on Friday and suffered a defeat at the hands of the Warriors.
Ingram won Friday’s district contest by 10 points, 52-42, and dropped the Cats to 11-16 overall and 1-2 in District 5-3A play. They traveled to Brady on Tuesday as they continued league play.
Comfort had a strong second half in Friday’s game, but Ingram had built a good lead by halftime and that was the difference in the game.
The Warriors were up 13-9 after one and then outscored the Cats in the second, 17-5, for the 30-14 halftime lead.
The Bobcats cut into the lead in the second half and whittled it down but couldn’t overcome being down by 16 points at the break.
Comfort won the third quarter, 10-7, and the Ingram lead was down to 37-24. The Bobcats also took the fourth quarter but only by three points at 18-15 and the Warriors held on for the 10-point win.
Jaydin Steward paced Comfort with 14 points, Joel Lozano was also in double digits with 11 points, Jovani Zapata finished with 9 points, Terick Rodriguez scored 6 and Ollie Engleman hit for 2.
