The Comfort girls basketball team made it two district wins in a row as the Deer held on for a 2-point road victory at Ingram.

The Comfort girls basketball team made it two district wins in a row as the Deer held on for a 2-point road victory at Ingram.

Comfort outscored the Lady Warriors in the fourth quarter 11-6 and recorded the 35-33 win.

The Deer improved to 13-16 overall and 2-3 in District 5-3A play. They traveled to Brady on Tuesday.

Ingram was leading 12-7 at the end of one and then added to its lead in the second after they took the quarter 7-5 for the 19-12 halftime lead.

Comfort closed it out with a strong second half. The Deer began their comeback in the third after they outscored Ingram in the quarter, 12-8, and the Warriors advantage was down to three points at 27-24.

Comfort continued to whittle the lead down in the fourth quarter and took the period by five points for the two-point victory.

Meghan Davis led the team with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Jael Hernandez added 9 points and also recorded 6 steals and 3 assists, Bailey Feldman scored 6 and grabbed 9 rebounds, Lula Jaime netted 4 points, Katie Haffner scored 3 and Katelyn Cook added 2 points.
